There is a very well known proverb -“Early to Bed, Early to Rise / Makes a man Healthy, Wealthy and Wise”. Is it applicable to you all ? Hope, it is not applicable to all.
How someone define day and night ? They are defined by the position of Sun and Moon. The proverb implies that your work or your “getting up from bed” should be dependent on the “arrival of Sun”. There are many factors which are also arriving along with the arrival of Sun. These factors are noise, pollution etc. Why not our ” getting up from bed” will be as per our ” requirement of body” ? I feel it should be dependent on “what my body permits”.
Do you know when the entire surroundings sleep, I can write very well. My room is very quiet and calm. No noise from outside knocks my door. I can concentrate on my works completely. I usually get up from bed at 7 a.m in the morning and of course it is very late because Sun rises at 4.45 -5 a.m. My father gets up from bed at 3 a.m. He also said the same thing as proverb said. But I don’t believe so. I never sleep very early at night. Usually at 12.30 or 1 p.m I sleep. Doctors also suggest that a person should go to bed very early at night. But problem lies in some other things and i.e habit. From the childhood, people are being habituated at sleeping early at night and rising early in the morning. Suddenly, if the people change their habits , definitely it will create problems. Change of anything from usual routine is “Transition phase”. Transition phase always gives troubles. But after few days, everyone become comfortable with their new habits.
So, if you can’t get up very early in the morning, don’t be upset. Do what your body permits and as per your requirement. If you can concentrate on your works early in the morning, then you must get up from bed very early in the morning. If you can concentrate on your works at midnight, then get up from bed accordingly.
